This doll was the second Barbara Willis doll I made. The original pattern was for a young lady. I turned mine into a fairy. I had just gotten the "The Artful Ribbon" book so I was playing around with ribbon flowers for her hair and on the bodice of her dress. I ended up using 1/8" wide ribbon. To fix the centers I used seed beads. If you do this don't forget to add a leaf or two. She is made with lames, and glitzy materials. Her wings are made up of an embroidered appliqué. To make them stiff I fed a tiny gauge wire along the top of the wing. Tedious but effective. She has a painted face and her joints are gathered. |
