The Master of MidCulter Entertains at Boghall Castle

SaraGrace Knauf

1999
Wire Armature, Batting, White Nylon Stockings
Costume is made of velvets and silks, glass beads, hand dyed chamois boots.

This is SaraGrace's first doll. He is a wonderful creature. Based upon a character in the book series called "Lymond Cronicles ". He is dressed in a courtly manner. The costume is based upon a 15th century Italian Court coat. The original garment can be seen on a fresco in Italy.
The construction of the doll is based upon Jo-Ellen Trilling's technique. Building a wire armature and then covering the wire with upholstery batting and then covering that with white nylons. The whole doll was then covered with matte medium and then painted over that.
Additional pictures of the piece can be seen here.
