Soft-Sculpted Cloth Dolls
Made in 1991, 1988 and 1989 (l to r)

Materials used to make the dolls are cotton, cotton velveteen, wool and silk flowers.

The hands and face of each doll are soft-sculpted. The eyes are embroidered. The hair for the two standing dolls is mohair and the sitting doll has hair of jute. The skirt of the sitting doll is made of silk flower petals. The shoes are molded onto the feet. They have thin cardboard bases. The construction of the dolls consists of body parts being made as part of the costume. Additional layers are added on to give the effect of a full costume. The vests of the two most left dolls have been shaped as leaves and then lightly padded and topped stitched.
